I am a communications and digital strategist with a focus on social media management and email for non-profits, labor unions, and other values-aligned organizations.

I bring 15 years of specialized experience managing campaigns, media communications and relations, and partnership engagement for political candidates, movements, and organizations. My writings have appeared in The Nation, InTheseTimes, Alternet, Dollars and Sense, The Root, and more. 

Prior to consulting, I served as the Mid-Atlantic Communications Director at the Working Families Party, where I worked on the ground on campaigns across the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

CASE STUDY: Transforming Communication Strategies for the Teachers Association of Baltimore County

Initial Problem:

Before enlisting my expertise, the Teachers Association of Baltimore County faced challenges communicating effectively with its members and the public during its Fall 2023 Contract Campaign. The client needed assistance in implementing an earned media and social media strategy to enhance transparency and engagement.

Expertise and Problem-Solving Process:

Upon being engaged, I assumed the role of leading the communications strategy for the Teachers Association of Baltimore County. I tackled the problem by enhancing transparency and member communication by developing a consistent social media content calendar and implementing an effective earned media strategy. By meticulously planning and executing these strategies, we secured coverage in reputable media outlets such as  CBS News, The Baltimore Sun, WYPR, WMAR News, The Baltimore Banner, and WBALTV

Results and Impact:

Due to my expertise and strategic approach, the Teachers Association of Baltimore County significantly improved its communication efforts. The increased transparency, member engagement, and media coverage contributed to a successful Fall 2023 Contract Campaign and a stronger connection with their members, leading to a more impactful and successful campaign.
